In a press release this morning, HCA circulated the findings of our second survey showing the impact of COVID-19 on home and community-based providers and services, again reiterating our call for priority access to supplies, Medicare telehealth flexibilities and reimbursement, and other issues.

The state Department of Health has issued two new COVID-19 guidance documents. One of these (dated March 31) replaces a prior guidance on protocols for personnel returning to work following COVID-19 exposure and infection (see here). The other is a frequently asked questions (FAQ) document on new Medicaid service and billing allowances through telehealth and telephonic means during the COVID-19 emergency (see here).
New York State officials have officially submitted an 1135 waiver request to the federal government that, if granted, would allow for waivers or modification of certain federal health laws in response to the COVI9-19 outbreak, including many waivers sought by HCA for home care and hospice. (more…)
