CDC Guidance Eases Mask Restrictions: On Thursday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the easing of indoor mask restrictions for fully vaccinated people except for certain crowded indoor settings. Masks are still required in health care settings, and the Cuomo Administration is also still reviewing the guidance to determine whether to adopt it in New York State.

“We have received the newly revised guidance from the CDC regarding mask wearing and social distancing for those with vaccinations and are reviewing them in consultation with Dr. Zucker and our partners and health experts in surrounding states,” Governor Cuomo said in a statement. (more…)

On May 4, the state Department of Health (DOH) and state Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) sent a joint letter to county leaders that asks each county and local health department to develop an in-home vaccination plan.

The plan is to be inclusive of all relevant county departments as well as other providers of home care services within the county.
